Diagnostic and therapeutic protocols have developed in many diseases determining daily medical practice in our country as in others. Eighteen months ago, ISUD took the initiative to fill in the respective gap in Andrology. The official methodology that was adopted for this venture was the one used in all treatment protocols.
Initially, a protocol was assigned to each member of the working group. They were then asked to complete a review of the relevant literature and -taking into accounttheir personal experienceand the conditions of the national infrastructure- to propose a realisticdiagnostic and therapeutic algorithm. Last year the working group presented the outcome at Andrology Update 2019 in Thessaloniki where there was extensive discussion with their colleagues. All improvements and changes have been integrated in the finalalgorithms that have beenultimately presented in a special edition of ISUD.
Now the time has come for the clinical application of the protocols. In this year's Andrology Update, every member of the working group is presenting 2-3 casesfollowed by discussions on their diagnostic and therapeutic approach based on the new diagnosticsand therapeutic protocols.
At the same time there will be 4 working groups with the aim of practical training and acquisition of skills in basic practical areas of subspecialization. These working groups will take half the time of the event.
Once again I am inviting you all to embrace this highly significant scientific event and contribute with your active participation to its success, to the benefit of all fellow Urologists but mainly to the benefit of men having sexual or infertility problems.
